autoflowering cannabis seeds

Plant training techniques such as topping, FIM, super cropping, and defoliation are not recommended for autoflowers. Any training that involves damage to your plants will temporarily slow or halt their growth and requires time for recovery—time that autoflowers don’t have (given their limited lifespan). You’d end up with greatly diminished yields.

When growing in soil, the optimal pH level of your water/nutrient solution is 6–7. You can adjust your water to the correct pH level using natural pH “up” or “down” products.

Lovers of great Cali weed won’t say no Green Gelato Auto by RQS. This girl was made by combining Green Gelato with an autoflowering Girl Scout Cookies. The result: an incredible aroma and mind-blowing potency (24% THC).

What kind of water for autoflowers?

It depends on the strain. But in general, autoflowers will be ready much quicker than feminized photoperiod cannabis. The average life cycle of autoflowers is about 10 weeks, with some strains ready as soon as 8 weeks after germination.

Terpenes are the aromatic compounds in cannabis. Each strain has a different terpene profile, which gives them their distinct aromas and tastes. So, if you’re smoking your autoflower buds and you can taste or smell citrusy, flowery, fruity, skunky, or even fuel notes, this is due to the distinct terpene profile of your strain. It is also suggested that terpenes do more than offer appealing tastes and smells; they may even influence the effect a strain has.

Keep your grow room’s temp at a moderate 21°C (room temperature) for healthy growth. Colder temperatures or excessive heat can lead to growing problems. For best results, grow in an environment where you can maintain full control. Use heating and/or cooling if necessary.

Autoflowering strains are created by crossbreeding indica or sativa plants with ruderalis. Ruderalis is a wild subtype of cannabis that grows in regions where the summer is very short but features many hours of daylight (e.g. Northern Europe or Siberia). These plants have evolved to not rely on daylight hours to flower, instead flowering according to age.

In addition, these strains are a great choice for gardeners in less warm climate areas who wish to grow on open ground, or on a balcony or window ledge, but find themselves restricted by short summers.

This is the first group of varieties to produce superior bud featuring elevated cannabinoid levels without the need for intense light during set, consistent periods of time. Whether using artificial light or sunlight, care and attention was always required in matters of timing the plants’ exposure to it, and ensuring that the hours of darkness really were dark. Light pollution from even minor sources has been known to confuse their internal ‘clocks’ as to whether they are supposed to be vegetating or blooming.

The advantages of automatic cannabis seeds

Autoflowering seeds, on the other hand, are able to complete their life cycle regardless of how long the days are, although at least eighteen hours of light will give the best results. Unlike regular seeds, ‘auto’ seeds grow crops that do not need to undergo the usual cycle of 12 hours of light alternating with 12 hours of darkness in order to bloom successfully, whether they are indica, sativa or hybrid. They seem virtually immune to light pollution, tolerating irregular and unpredictable periods of light and darkness with impunity. Outdoor gardeners with short summers can wait until the warmest weeks to cultivate their automatic cannabis seed crop, safe in the knowledge that most of these hours will fuel the flower production, not the vegetation, period.

Higher THC levels

Autos require fewer nutrients than their photoperiod counterparts. Because of their smaller size, they have less of a demand for minerals and elements that assist in the creation of energy, proteins, and other components of plant physiology.

When it comes to watering, be careful not to overdo things. Autos have a smaller root system than photoperiod strains and require much less water.

Whereas feminized photoperiod strains require a change in the light cycle to flower, autoflowering plants do not.

We recommend sowing seeds in waves every few weeks across the growing season for a harvest every fortnight.

Growers aren’t the only ones who can benefit from autoflower weed seeds. Smokers also have a lot to gain from these speedy wonders:
